Addressing crime in our community

On January 26, the Safety & Security Committee hosted representatives from the Circuit Attorney’s Office to address crime in our community.  Malika Poindexter and Khatib Waheeb talked with more than 75 people at St. Ambrose School.  The officials educated the community about victim rights, the role of the CAO with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department and the local courts, how the CAO’s Victim Services Unit helps crime victims, and crime prevention through the establishment of a Neighborhood Ownership Model.  Following their presentations, Poindexter and Waheeb answered questions.
Poindexter is the Director of the Victim Services Unit.  Waheeb works with the Circuit Attorney’s Community Engagement Office.  The officials offered their presentation for those unable to attend the event.  Click “here” to access the presentation.  The last slide has contact information for Poindexter and Waheeb.
