Protecting The Hill Together
A collaborative safety initiative led by The Hill 2000 Neighborhood Association and The Hill Business Association focused on enhancing safety, deterring crime, and strengthening confidence throughout The Hill community.
The Hill Community Safety Initiative explores the use of drone patrol technology to help monitor public areas during higher-risk evening and overnight hours, improve visibility, and support faster response to suspicious activity.
Focused on Public Safety
This initiative is designed for crime prevention and emergency support — not surveillance.
The program may:
- Monitor public streets, alleys, and parking areas
- Help verify suspicious activity more quickly
- Support faster emergency response
- Enhance nighttime visibility and deterrence
The program will not:
- Use facial recognition technology
- Monitor private homes or backyards
- Monitor schools or playgrounds
- Conduct routine surveillance of individuals
Why It Matters
Neighborhood safety benefits everyone who lives, works, and visits The Hill. This initiative aims to help protect homes, vehicles, businesses, residents, employees, and visitors while preserving the character and privacy of the neighborhood.
If implemented, the program would be operated by certified professionals with clear oversight and strong privacy protections.
