BOARD TALK

BY BRANDON HOLLOWAY

Buon Capodanno! As we find ourselves in the heart of winter, the dawn of a new year fills our community on The Hill with anticipation. The lengthening days and crisp chill in the air set the stage for exciting events and activities in 2024.

For those of us focusing on New Year’s resolutions, success lies in specificity, realism, and effective prioritization. Define clear, achievable goals, breaking down larger objectives into manageable steps. Concentrate efforts on a select few resolutions to avoid spreading thin, and track progress diligently, celebrating small victories to sustain motivation. Embrace flexibility in the face of unexpected challenges and involve a supportive network for encouragement and accountability. Learn from setbacks, practice self-compassion, and regularly reflect on your journey to ensure alignment with values and priorities. By incorporating these principles, your resolutions become a roadmap for personal growth and positive change.

If your goal includes greater involvement in our wonderful neighborhood, seize the opportunity to volunteer with The Hill 2000 Neighborhood Association. We’re actively seeking individuals for committees and events related to Beautification, Neighborhood Preservation, Philanthropy, and Safety & Security. To make a difference, visit www.hillstl.org/volunteer/ or connect with a board member. All contact information is conveniently located in this newsletter.

Looking ahead, mark your calendar for our next general membership meeting on January 18th at 7:00 pm in the St. Ambrose cafeteria. It’s a prime opportunity to connect, share ideas, and stay informed about the exciting developments in our fantastic neighborhood. Join us as we fully embrace the spirit of a New Year!
